Veteran’s Affairs Canada will typically provided funding for services by licensed health professionals, such as physiotherapists and massage therapists. This funding is usually provided under one of the 14 Programs of Choice (POCs) – please refer to the VAC website at http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/ for details on the POCs or the 800 number on the front of your VAC Health Identification Card. In most cases, a physician referral is required to be approved for covered services. For most benefits offered under the Health Care Benefits Program, there is a published frequency and dollar limits. Please consult your plan for individual details.
As a Veteran, your VAC Health Identification card or VAC Health Identification letter identifies the benefits and/or services you are eligible to receive. It is quite a simple process in order to access physiotherapy at Fairway Physiotherapy. Once you receive a physician referral, you’ll need to present your VAC ID card to our administrative staff. We will take care of confirming your eligibility for physiotherapy and/or massage therapy benefits. You will be then booked into the next available assessment spot for up to an hour with your therapist. We will take care of billing for you and submit our invoices directly to VAC; you do not need to pay out of pocket to access therapy. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give the clinic a call at (807) 344-5242. We will be happy to assist you in each step of your recovery.
