MVA

A Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) can drastically change your life. Not only does pain and injury from such an accident make it hard or impossible to do things, it also makes it hard to sleep, eat and recover.

Add to that all the forms to complete, calls from insurance companies, repair companies, doctors, testing facilities, etc, and this can be a very stressful time. What happens in a car accident?

When you car is struck, or strikes something, the car stops suddenly. Unfortunately, even in minor accidents, you keep going. Then the seatbelt or airbag stops your skeleton. Unfortunately, your muscles, internal organs and brain keep going until they hit your skeleton, which stops them. All of that creates a lot of impact and force going through everything.

As if THAT weren’t enough, there is a rebound force as well, which pushes everything backward, in the opposite direction. Imagine throwing a tennis ball against a wall. The tennis ball hits the wall (Force #1), but then it suddenly changes direction and goes the other way…it bounces (Force #2). If we were inside the tennis ball, we’d hit the front of the ball, then we’d hit the back of the ball.

So it isn’t surprising that a lot of pain and difficulty can happen. Fortunately, once the major injuries have been ruled out in the emergency room, you can rest at ease that you are safe. But that doesn’t really help the pain and the difficulties. We understand injuries from Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA’s). We have many techniques to help, including movements and positions to alleviate the pain, devices to interrupt pain signals and provide relief without medication and reduce inflammation without anti-inflammatories.

Motor Vehicle AccidentNeck pain, headaches, low back pain, shoulder and mid-back pain are all common after a car accident. Using anti-inflammatories and pain medications might help in the short term, but they don’t fix the problem and they may interfere with healing. The problem is physical restriction, weakness and spasming, which results in pain and inflammation. Why mask it over or medicate muscles to relax when you can get faster, more effective relief by fixing the problem? This is what we can help you with. Finding a position or movement which offers relief of the problem, unloads the damaged tissue, allowing it to heal, and speeds blood flow, nutrition and repair materials so the problem can heal is the best way to get better completely and quickly.
